What will this tool help me decide?
If You Should Migrate to Linux

TCOnow! for Linux Migration is an analytical software tool designed to help you understand if you should migrate to Linux. By answering a limited number of questions, TCOnow! will generate a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) comparison of Linux options. This software can compare options of moving your applications to Linux on Intel or Linux on a mainframe if you are running multiple applications on NT4, Windows 2000, Mixed Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, mixed UNIX, or Windows and Unix.

TCOnow! tells you the true cost of migrating to Linux, down to the level of which workloads are best suited for the platform, and what IT skills are important to success. If you want to know if you should move your applications to Linux on Intel or Linux on a mainframe, then this is the product for you!

Click any option, in the product matrix below, to see what you can compare.

Interview Process:
The software allows you to select from several server consolidation strategies, and from one of 17 industry groups (providing default costs for employee salaries, benefits, depreciation method and schedule, cost of capital, etc).
Results:
Based on your responses, the software will automatically configure your optimal servers, including partitioning and clustering when appropriate. It will also provide capacity planning as changes to growth assumptions occur. It also provides you with the performance and pricing of more than 500 different servers.
A Step Further:
Once you have completed your analysis, you will be able to see how individual costs affect your project costs (such as industry warranty and support terms). You can then complete "what-if" analysis to see how any strategy change would impact your decision. Some examples include selecting a different server consolidation strategy, deploying a cluster, or even changing availability requirements - with any change you can see how it ripples through your server configuration and all of your cost categories.

Customized Business Report

CIOview's software creates a complete business case, detailing the costs of possible solutions. For the financial people, it includes cost factor breakdown. For the technical people, it includes a complete break-down of deployment.

With a tool this powerful, you can give everyone the information they want…and look great doing it.

Purchasing Research - Done!

Conducting the research necessary to make a purchasing decision can be very time consuming. The process of reading through reviews, listening to the experience of colleagues, and trying to sift through the marketing materials can make it difficult to reach a clear decision. CIOview's software takes all of the pertinent industry information into account and applies it to your specific situation – giving you the most accurate analysis possible.

Extensive What if Analysis

After you have reviewed your cost comparison, the software allows you to drill-down and change any of the underlying assumptions. The software is intelligent enough to allow you to change everything from the server model selected, to the cost of the power for the servers. This means you can continue to modify your report until you reach the completed solution you desire.
